I got mail contact with Ben (who is working with GHBM version, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]).

He has commented on the suggested idea's, but I will see when I post them here, some where not clear.

So, in short, expect some more news.

If players are spamming/insulting then best to report them to an op, so they can be kicked/banned or maybe muted in a future version. I've never used an ignore list in an IRC client since even if people are fighting and being dicks, it can be amusing to watch and I can just ignore it myself without needing technology to do it for me.

An ignore list would be fairly easy to add, so I'll probably do it anyway but without a better way of authenticating players, it's pretty easy to just change your name and IP, so you are no longer on the list.

There's plenty of MP3 playing programs already that are far superior to anything I could make.

Here are my current thoughts for each suggestion:

2. Can you be more specific? Did you mean "login"?
3. The messages people write in Game Hunter are not that interesting, imho!
4. Sektor might work on tabbed chatting. My view is the complexity will cause more problems than it solves.
5. Maybe GH could set/unset the "/away" status automatically, based on the user's activity?
6. Yes! This is very important to me. There is NO REASON for simple applications to need 2GB of RAM and a Quad Core Motherfucker CPU. Game Hunter is currently very light on resources. I expect GHBM to be slightly lighter and slightly faster.
7. I want GHBM to fit in with Windows XP. If possible, I'll make it fit in with any Windows theme automatically. Do the screenshots look better than the current GH?
8. GH is an application for finding and joining games. It is not a MySpace page or a bedroom. Wink

My opinion on these things might change, of course. Basically, I want GHBM to be very simple and work perfectly all the time.

Separate pop-up windows for incoming private messages also would be a good idea, but also difficult to make.

Many of these suggestions might have "seemed like a good idea at the time" but would suck in practice. For example: popups are annoying enough on the Web, so let's keep them out of GH. Smile

Having said that, reducing the amount of noise caused by having loads of status messages in the chat history is something GHBM has started doing. I have hidden some messages which always seemed useless.. Such as the MASSIVE essay about ports whenever you start! I have shortened some of the useful messages, too.

Login and identity has many issues, according to a few people. Sektor might have some ideas about this. It do not know much about login and Sektor controls how it works.

Here is how the BM version looks like on Vista with Aero effect. The auto-size button function works great. There is also an 640x480 button to quickly go to that size/resolution.

That time is not correct, perhaps because of servertime?

Also, when you click on exit on topbar of program, does it log you out? I guess so... just checking.

That time is the gtanet server time. When I type /time in a normal IRC client, it says +01:00. I assume that is +1 GMT. I can convert it to your systems local time.

BenMillard has put your name in the about box for next version, sorry about that. I used a different icon in 1.5 but I think I will go back to using your icon since I like it more than the one JernejL made.

Right click context menus are possible and will be added at some point.

Hey Sektor, did you also have statistics? Some data on most played maps, most visits from this country, most used words, average play time etc.

Perhaps these statistics can even tell us something... lol

I got plenty of stats, they use different log formats, if you can write a short program to convert them all to the same format then i could have stats from 2005 in my stats page. I dont ever read this forum so contact me on GH only.

Maybe i could add sth to Ziommal's idea - i think about sort users by different specification instead of only sort usin' name or CC by ascendig or desceding - for example i wanna to put on top all PL guys, not only ppl from some gangs if u know what i mine.

So you guys would like to see:

Teamchat options, with CTRL+click on user name you can select more users.

More sorting options in the player list. Perhaps even groupsorting, that you can make your own sorting rules in separated list. Like a list with only polish (and from certain clan) and a list with different countries etc.

Perhaps it's nice if there will be an option to pick instead (of next to) the country flag the gang flag/sign? Smile

Good Idea, then nick haven't to have gang prefix next to nick.

One thing about flag gang - this option should be open only for users who realy in gangs.

One another thing - i think minimization GH to systray icon next to clock should be good for someone who want's to have got opened GH window 24/7.

I think about a friends list you can go to "Friend" and clik on a friends name and you will get info's there like "_R_Aim" last online? 12:38 last played with "_R_Joker" sign out 13:20 24.04.09 (client Exited)
